This is wonderful and relaxing to add to your bath, with a subtle but calming scent, plus the benefit of salts. Good for muscle relaxing. Would highly recommend

First time I've tried BetterYou Magnesium Sleep Flakes, or for that matter any health bath salts product. So I had no real previous experience, or prior expectations. These hydrated flakes are stated as being roughly 50% water and 47% magnesium chloride. Other mineral present in very small amounts include, in decreasing order of quantity, sodium chloride, potassium chloride, magnesium sulfate and calcium chloride. When poured into the hot water the flakes dissolve almost instantly and the water is left totally clear, with no visible suds or bubbles. Two essential oils have also been added as key ingredients, namely lavender oil and camomile flower oil, both, like magnesium, well known for helping promote sleep and relaxation. While, there is no indication on either the resealable packet or manufactures website exactly how much lavender or camomile oil has been added, all I say say is that very time I open the the packet my senses are immediately overwhelmed by the smell of lavender, which can still be smelt strongly downstairs while I am soaking upstairs in the bath. Perhaps the best way to describe using these flakes, is to say that it is a powerful and truly relaxing sensory experience. When you come out of the bath you also feel really, really clean, and yes, you do feel destressed. The other thing you should know, when you buy this product. is that Zechstein magnesium chloride is mined from possibly the purest and most unpolluted source known on earth. It is extracted at Tripscompagnie, a small town near Veendam (northest Holland) from a unique salt layer (roughly 1500m underground) from residues left behind by the Zechstein Sea which evaporated 250,000,000 years ago. The source at Tripscompagnie is recognised as the most uncontaminated) and most concentrated. (47%) source of magnesium chloride content there is. I know none of this until researching this review but you get the picture. This is a quality product,. It currently retails at £9.95 for1kg,, which at the recommended 'dosage' of 2 cupfuls per bath, works out at only £2.50 per bath. It is well worth the money!
